Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson born to British lawyers Jacqueline Luesby & Chris Watson in Paris, France. When she was just five years old when she left for Oxfordshire and attended at the Dragon School. When she was six years old, Emma decided that she was going to become an actress. For a number of years she trained at the Oxford branch of Stagecoach Theatre Arts a part-time theatre school where she studied performing and singing. When she was ten, she had appeared and played as the main character in several Stagecoach performances and school plays. When 1999 began, casting was announced with the casting process for Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2001) the film adaptation of British author J.K. Rowling's bestselling novel. Emma was discovered by agents through her Oxford teacher. After the eight auditions, producer David Heyman told Emma and the other candidates Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint that they had been cast for the role of three of the leads Hermione Granger Harry Potter and Ron Weasley. Emma's debut film appearance came alongside Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone in 2001. The film broke records for first-day openings and weekday openings and also was the highest-grossing production in the year 2001. Reviewers praised the film, as did its performances by the three young stars. The Daily Telegraph, an important British newspaper, called Emma's performances "amazing". In the following days, Emma was nominated for five prizes for her work in the film and was awarded an award called the Young Artist Award for Leading Young Actress in a Feature Film.
